California Adventures

Nathan had three interviews for residency programs in California this month. Two on Feb 10th on one on Feb 14th. We decided to drive down to California as a family. The weather was beautiful and we were able to have some fun in between interviews.

The drive on down was pretty. It was amazing to see the refection of the mountains in the water. The boys also handled the drive okay. However Aiden does NOT like to sleep in his car seat! I really don't blame him!
So pretty!
Cameron kept telling us to go home...
Enjoying the drive.
On Sunday we went to see the Sacramento temple. It really is a nice temple. There was a flock of geese that was on the large grass areas around the temple. Nathan decided to take Aiden and see the geese. Aiden had fun, Cameron and I decided to stay back. :)

We took the kids to the California State Railroad Museum and had a blast!! The boys had fun looking at all the big trains but the especially had fun playing with the toy trains. Cameron saw a gentleman that was dressed up in work overalls and he kept calling him "Mr. Conductor." I told him yes that is Mr. Conductor. I knew it wasn't but the right name wasn't coming to mind, so I told him that so he would quit yelling it at me. As soon as I said that, this gentleman quickly turned around and sternly said, "No! I am not a conductor! I am an engineer!" Lesson learned. Do not call an engineer a conductor. They do not like that!!

Waiting to go inside the big diesel engine.

Aiden is in front of this massive diesel engine. He is behind the stroller.

I thought this train was so pretty!!

Talking to the conductor.
Massive toy train city.
Having fun playing with trains.
Aiden watching for Percy. The green blob in the last arched window is Percy.
I thought this sculpture was awesome! This sculpture is all made out of rail spikes!
We were able to walk around Old Sacramento. It was cool to see some of the old buildings.
While waiting for Nathan to finish his last interview, I took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. They had a blast!

On our way home is was so pretty outside. The air was so clean and crisp.

We made it home at 2am Wednesday morning. It felt so good to be in my own bed after spending a week in a hotel. One road trip done one more to go. Next stop Nevada.

  2. If you make that trip to California again. I would recommend stopping at the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. They give really fun family tours and samples.:)
